Introduction

Nutrition and Biochemistry were two very active divisions of the Department of Human Ecology between 1965 and 1991. In 1992 the Department of Nutrition and Biochemistry (DNB) was established as an independent department.
The department offers MSPH degrees in nutrition since (1971), MSc. in biochemistry (since 1994) and Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences (since 1995) and is active on site training, in research, in nutrition counseling and in health services.

The faculty members of the department include of two full professors, two associate professors, one assistant professor and six instructors.
